About Risk Oriented

History

I got my start as a professional poker player in the Turning Stone casino, just outside of Syracuse. I began my career playing 2-4 and 4-8 limit while building my online bankroll. As my bankroll grew, I moved into 15-30 at Turning Stone and 8-16 online. As No Limit became more popular, I started playing Full Ring for a short time before finally finding my current home at the Heads Up NL Sit and Go tournaments, mainly on Full Tilt.

Risk Oriented started out as a blog, but became something much more. For a while, I blogged under the name Risk Oriented at HUSNG.com. My following became very strong, and I was even asked to make two guest videos for their video section. Since moving my strategy articles to my own domain, Risk Oriented has ballooned in popularity. Thousands read these pages every month. Part of my job as a poker writer is to take my immense understanding of the game, articulate it in easy-to-understand terms, and write informative articles and coaching materials. After writing strategy articles for several months, I decided I was ready to write a training seminar for heads-up poker. Samuel Smith's Start Winning seminar is available now, and it's got something in it for everybody.
